On this particular late September day the early morning hint of a breeze feels a little like change. After the long hot summer here in Louisiana I just can't wait for our fall weather to sneak around the oak trees. Driving down Highway 14 to Jefferson Island I drove pass a few cane tractors headed to the fields. They were filled with planting cane for next years crop. As I drove by the garden I took this picture while thinking of the syrup kettles filled with sweet cane juice and the sweet brown sugar that will be used to make all those sugary desserts this fall.
