Jefferson's Oaks
On this particular late September day the early morning hint of a breeze feels a little like change. After the long hot summer here in Louisiana I just can't wait for our fall weather to sneak around the oak trees. As I was driving down Highway 14 to Jefferson Island I drove pass a few cane tractors headed to the fields. They were filled with planting cane for next years crop.
As I drove by the garden I took this picture while thinking of the syrup kettles filled with sweet cane juice and the thick brown sugar that was used to make all those sugary desserts every fall.
